At the South Garda Karting in Lonato, new protagonists in the ACI Karting Italian Championship have risen to the fore, especially in KZ2, where in Race-1 Francesco Celenta returned to Prague-Tm, the 2016 Italian Champion who is now fighting again for the title of 2018, but also new faces like Simone Cunati on CRG-Tm that at the debut with the new Team Modena Kart has immediately centered the victory in Race-2.
The fourth round of the Italian Championship, which at Lonato saw a total of 210 riders at the start, then proposed several new names on the double podium of KZ2 compared to the first tests of the season, where it was above all Giacomo Pollini on Formula K-Tm to be a major player. In KZ2, with 60 drivers, Pollini on the home circuit was not able to express himself as he wanted, collecting only a sixth and fifth place in the two Finals. The podium of Race-1 with Celenta winner was completed by the second place of the German Maximilian Paul with DR-Modena, and by Filippo Berto another driver of Modena Kart with CRG-Tm, with the third place. On the first step of the podium of Race-2 Cunati climbed that ended so positively his first weekend with the new team, while in second position was Mirko Torsellini on KR-Iame. Celenta was still on the podium with the third place confirming its renewed competitiveness. Who seemed to be able to fight for the win initially was Andrea Dalè on CRG-Tm after his best time in practice, in Race 1 instead the driver from Brescia had a penalty in Race-1 for an incident on Davide Forè ( BirelArt-Tm), while in race-2 he failed to do better than the eighth position.
