Ugento, 13.04.2025
A protagonist's signature is the one stamped by Modena Kart Racing Team at the end of the first round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship held on the Pista Salentina, in the heel of Apulia, on the historical Ugento circuit which hosted the greatest events of international karting in the nineties. The 1,380-metre track, particularly technical and full of ups and downs, which opened the hostilities of the Tricolour 2025, was however immediately interpreted in a great way by the young protagonists of the team managed by Gabriele Finocchi, thanks also to the performance of the technical compartment of the Parolin chassis powered by TM Kart, which allowed them to collect excellent results.
Double podium for the Parolin brand.
The Parolin brand had a dominant visibility in Ugento, celebrated twice on the podium of the finals at the end of the fine performance of Gioele Girardello, bearer of the Modena Kart team, third in OK-N Junior, and for the fine result of the young Elton Hedfors of the Parolin Motorsport team in the smallest MINI Gr.3 where he placed second in an exciting final. A double podium that concluded the weekend in Puglia with satisfaction and offered further confidence for the continuation of the season.
Girardello surprising in OK-N Junior. Mirabella also did well.
In OK-N Junior the performance put on by Gioele Girardello was once again impressive. He was the protagonist of the weekend right from the qualifying practice with the best time in group-1 and second overall in 55.695, a win and a second place in the two elimination heats, and third place in Pre-final-B which allowed him to conquer the pole position for the Final. After the first five laps he led, in the tussle of the final race Girardello was forced to give up the first position, only to finish in an honourable third place, which was nevertheless very positive. In OK-N Junior also competed Federico Mirabella, a bit unlucky in the final where he had managed to qualify in a good position thanks to an excellent third place in Pre-final-A obtained at the end of a great comeback.
The other protagonists with Modena Kart.
In KZ2 for the colours of Modena Kart competed Filippo Villani and Leon Hedfors, with good overall performances. Alessio Piccini was absent in this category due to the after-effects of a shoulder injury suffered a few days ago on a ski track. Unfortunately, the Modena Kart driver had to give up the start in Ugento after trying to do a few laps.
In the OK-N for Modena Kart was the young Leyla Sulyak, in a rather crowded category. The Turkish girl, in her second season in OK-N, at Ugento after a good performance in the official practice, however, failed to reach the final phase in the crowded category, which in this round reached a new record of 70 participants.
