Di Lorenzo and Cunati protagonists of KZ2 in Siena

Modena Kart and Simone Cunati in KZ2 take off in the Italian ACI Karting Championship after the success obtained on the Circuit of Siena in the second round of the Tricolor which follows the victory in the opening race in Castelletto di Branduzzo.

The driver from Como competing on CRG-Tm, driver of the Modena Kart team and assisted at motor level by Gianfranco Galiffa, on the Castelnuovo di Berardenga track (Siena) completed an exceptional weekend: pole position in trial, victory in all and two qualifying heats and victory in the first of the two finals. A perfect path completed by the fifth place in race-2 that projects Cunati at the top of the standings with 110 points and an already important advantage over the pursuers.
The Modena Kart weekend was also enhanced by the performance of Luigi Di Lorenzo, Cunati's KZ2 team-mate, and also very fast at the Siena Circuit. Unlucky in the first round at Castelletto di Branduzzo, Di Lorenzo turned out to be another protagonist on the Siena weekend: he was second in his group, fourth overall, and then finished second overall at the end of the heats behind Cunati, and then immediately in the lead in the first final for 13 laps ahead of his team-mate Cunati, until a technical problem forced him to surrender. Chapeau!
In the second final of Siena, in fifth place for Cunati, he was joined by the 20th place of Di Lorenzo who managed to recover 13 positions.
In the first round of the KZN Over, Claudio Tempesti also performed well, also on CRG-Tm with Modena Kart, one of the main protagonists of the category with the seventh place in the first of the two finals after the third absolute performance in the heats and the fifth time in practice. A penalty of 5 seconds in the second final relegated Tempesti to ninth position, but Tempesti's potential confirms him among the fastest drivers in KZN Over.
Next round of the Modena Kart at the KZ2 European Championship on June 16th at the Naples International Circuit of Sarno. The next stage of the Italian ACI Karting Championship is scheduled for July 7th again in Sarno.
